Parent Resources
Hello parents! The AHS library is an essential aspect of your child's education. The library enhances students' navigation, understanding, and use of information resources through library instruction and research support.
Donations:
While the library does accept donations, it is important that they add value to the collection. We are especially interested in:
- Gently used copies of recent best-sellers
- Updated copies of classics
- High-interest materials
Donated books that are deemed inappropriate or not added to the collection due to reasons of age, condition will first be offered to teachers for their classroom libraries, and the remainder will be donated to the public library for their book sale.
Resources:
Our students are living in an increasingly digital world. The following resources will help you guide your child through using the Internet and other digital tools safely and effectively:
- The Massachusetts Attorney General's Guide to Cyber Crime and Internet Safety
- CommonSense Media's Internet Safety Tips for High School Kids
- Vodafone's Parent Guide - While Vodafone adheres to UK standards, this site is an extensive guide to help you get involved and protect your child in their digital life.
- Ashland Public Schools Bullying Prevention and Intervention Plan includes information about cyber-bullying.
- AHS Guidance's page for parents
